Fukuoka Economic Mission to India

A 40 member business delegation from Fukuoka   province of Japan visited the Department of   Industrial Policy & Promotion. The delegation was led by Mr. Hirotaro Yamasaki, Mayor of the Fukuoka city. The other prominent members   were from Kyushu University, Fukuoka Chambers of Commerce  Industry, Itochu , Sumitomo, Mitsui, Seiko, Hitachi , Kyushi   Railway, Daichi Koutsu,   etc. For complete list of the delegates, please click here. The delegates   represented wide cross section of economic activities including education,   municipality, research, trade, engineering, IT, electric power, transport,   real estate etc.
 
The delegation was informed about the India’s   economic prospects, FDI policy, outlook and opportunities as well as special  economic zones. Fruitful interactions were held with the members of the   delegation on their respective subjects including taxation. The visit of the   delegation signifies renewed interest in Japan   about India.  Fukuoka city is considered to be the most livable city in Asia which is not only inexpensive to live but also a safe city. Business people consider Fukuoka as the best location in Japan. Fukuoka city leads in manufacturing , education and R&D. It has a well developed social and physical infrastructure. It has one of the highest per capita GDP in Japan. It has formed relationship with sister cities in USA, France, New Zealand, Malaysia, China, South Korea and Singapore. The cities considered to be a Gateway to Asia.
